Arranging a trip for the Pereloma Academy to the European Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championships
Way of Hearts Foundation continues to provide ongoing support to key sporting organisations and movements that help unlock the potential of a new generation of Ukrainian champions. In April,thanks to funds from our members and partners, the Foundation contributed to a trip for students from the Pereloma Fight Academy MMA school to the European Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship – from which they returned withmedals!
How the Foundation helped
To arrange the trip and participation, Way of Hearts joined efforts with a number of charitable foundations and private initiatives. The Foundation covered a significant portion of the traveland accommodation costs for the team of 14 Pereloma Academy students who joined the Ukrainian national team at the championship. At the end of the tournament, the team won 13 awards, including:
- 7 gold medals;
- 3 silver medals
- 3 bronze medals
Why this matters
“Regular institutional support for talented teams allows their management to focus on training rather than on seeking funding, and enables young athletesto be as focused as possible on winning,” emphasised the Foundation’s head Yulia Ovcharenko.
This is precisely the format adopted by Way of Hearts Foundation which has been supporting the initiatives of the Pereloma Fight Academy since 2023.
