In November Way of Hearts Foundation launched a large-scale project in collaboration with Kyiv Maternity Hospital No. 2. And today it has been completed: thanks to funding from our membersand partners, Ukraine’s first delivery room and wards for inclusive patients have opened.
“Building high-quality perinatal infrastructure that takes into account the needs of all patients is an important step for the development of the healthcaresystem in general and for boosting the birth rate in particular. Until now, Ukraine had no specialised wards for inclusive patients, and so our initiative sets an important precedent that is worth scaling up to other regionalcentres. We are extremely grateful to the foundation for its support and significant involvement in the implementation of this vitally important project,” commented hospital’s chief physician Oleksandr Zabudskyi.
Way of Hearts Foundation funded the major refurbishment of the new ward on the ground floor of the maternity hospital, which included:

The foundation also purchased and donated a specialised oxygen system for patients.
“Our foundation has embarked on this complex but undoubtedly vital project with great enthusiasm; it will help hundreds of familiesgain access to skilled and modern medical care at one of the most important moments in life – the birth of a child. These moments come with understanding why our work is important” – from a Foundation team statement.
