MEDICAL BEDS FOR KYIV CITY CHILDREN'S CLINICAL HOSPITAL NO. 2
The administration of Kyiv City Children's Clinical Hospital No. 2 approached the Foundation with a request to replace outdated wooden hospital beds with the new metal ones.
For 75 years, Children's Hospital No. 2 has been providing specialized medical care and today holds the status of a supra-cluster hospital — a multidisciplinary, expert-level medical center. The hospital delivers highly specialized and complex healthcare services and sees young patients from across the Kyiv region.
The hospital provides medical care for children from birth to age of 18. Its departments include traumatology, neurosurgery, infectious diseases and rehabilitation. Last year alone, the hospital treated 22,537 patients.
Doctors and nurses care for children injured as a result of the war, provide intensive treatment for critically ill patients and offer round-the-clock care for infants left without parental support. The hospital's surgical teams perform operations every day, carrying out an average of 7,900 procedures annually.
HOW THE FOUNDATION HELPED
Through the efforts of the Foundation's, 100 outdated wooden hospital beds were replaced with new metal medical beds equipped with headboards.
WHY IT MATTERS
The hospital has a total capacity of 300 beds and provides daily inpatient care for children from Kyiv and the surrounding region. It treats emergency cases, supports children experiencing severe stress and trauma and provides long-term care for patients with serious medical conditions. The hospital also serves children from orphanages and students of the Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum.
To meet modern infection prevention and control standards, all equipment used in patient rooms must be suitable for thorough disinfection. Unlike wooden beds, metal medical beds can be properly sanitized, making them essential for maintaining a safe hospital environment.
By taking this seemingly small step, we can help improve the quality and safety of medical care, ensure timely treatment, and contribute to better recovery outcomes for the hospital's youngest patients.
