Targeted aid for a inclusive child

In November 2025, representatives of the Foundation were told about Yevhen Vovchok and his mother Olena. Yevhen has a Group 1 disability – doctors diagnosed the boy with a metabolic disorder,as well as delayed speech and mental development.

Yevhen and his mum live in their hometown of Shostka in the Sumy region, despite the shelling and blackouts. Thanks to his mum’s efforts, even during the war, the boy is registered withspecialist doctors and undergoes regular check-ups and examinations. Olena also goes to great lengths to ensure her son can regularly undergo a course of rehabilitation at the ‘Malyatko+’ private clinic in Khmelnytskyi.

How the Foundation helped

As soon as we heard about the boy, representatives of the Foundation contacted Olena to find out what kind of help would be most needed at this time. As a result, the Foundation covered Yevhen’snext rehabilitation course at the ‘Malyatko+’ Private Clinic, scheduled for February 2026.

Why this matters

Yevhen’s diagnosis is not a death sentence. With regular rehabilitation and constant medical supervision, the child may eventually catch up with his peers, and thus have a good chanceof adequate socialisation and a fulfilling adult life.
