The Fitofan Cup in the USA and new achievements by former trainees of the foundation

A trainee from the ‘Pereloma Fight Academy’ won the international FITOFAN CUP tournament in the USA.

On this occasion, the Pereloma Academy team represented Ukraine at the international MMA tournament – the FITOFAN CUP – which took place on 5–7 December in Forney, Texas,USA.

The young Ukrainian athlete, Gordii Mykhailenko, confidently advanced to the final of his weight class, but on the eve of the decisive bout, a surprise awaited him and his coach. At the weigh-in,it turned out that Gordii’s opponent, the US representative Hayden Heinrichs, was almost 10 kg heavier – 44.9 kg for the Ukrainian versus 54.5 kg for the American.

Despite the significant weight difference, Gordii confidently defeated the American in 2 minutes and 30 seconds and became the tournament champion.

In addition to the sporting achievements, the head coach and founder Yaroslav Pereloma, held a free seminar/masterclass for all interested tournament participants. Yaroslav spoke about theAcademy’s training system and demonstrated the basic elements of combat.

How the foundation helped

The foundation covered the costs and organised flights for the coach and a team member – including tickets and full support, such as check-in for the following routes: Warsaw–Dallas– Dallas–New York – New York–Warsaw.

Why this matters

The students of the Pereloma Academy have once again successfully represented Ukraine at international MMA competitions. Last time, the team won numerous medals atthe World Championships in Abu Dhabi; this time, Gordii Mykhailenko came victorious in the USA. The Foundation is delighted to consistently support young talent and be involved in their achievements on the international stage.
